Making sure the tape measure is horizontal, measure the widest part of the bust.
Underbust:
Again holding the tape measure horizontally, measure around your back and under the bust.
Overbust:
Measure around the top of your chest, under the armpits. Pull the tape measure fairly snug, and don't breathe in deeply.
Bust arc:
Measure from the where the side seam would be at bustline level, around to the same point on the other side.
Bust point to bust point:
Position your breasts on the front of your chest, pointing forwards, and measure the width from nipple to nipple. It is important to get this measurement right, too big and your breasts will point outwards rather than forwards and the neckline will be too wide.
Squashed bust:
Repeat the bustline measurement with the breasts held in the same position as for the bust point to bust point measurement. This may be a couple of inches smaller than the normal bust measurement.
Bra size:
Please read the bra fitting guide
Bustline to underbust:
Measure at the side, from your bustline down to underbust level.
Bustline to waist:
Tie a ribbon around your waist to act as a marker, and measure from your bustline down to waist level.
Highest point of corset above bustline:
Decide how high you want the top of the corset to be above the nipple.
Diaphragm:
Measure around your ribs, halfway between your underbust and your waist.
Waist:
As you can see in the picture, the tape measure should be pulled fairly snug – this is not a relaxed waist measurement. However, do not suck your stomach in too much or the corset will be too small.
High hip:
Measure around the pelvic girdle.
Low hip/seat:
Measure around the fullest part of the seat.
Waist to high hip:
After taking the high hip measurement, keep your finger in place and measure up to the ribbon marking your waist level.
Waist to low hip:
Repeat the same measurement for the low hip.
Front hip arc: (high hip level)
Measure from the side seam around the front of your hips to the same point on the other side. Measure at the same level as the high hip measurement.
Front hip arc: (low hip level)
Repeat the above measurement at the level of the low hip/seat measurement.
Waist to bottom edge of corset - centre front:
Whilst in a seated position, place a ruler or similar object on your tummy where you want the bottom edge of the corset to be. This helps you to get a better idea of how the busk will feel. Measure from the bottom of the ruler up to your waist level.
Waist to bottom edge of corset - above leg:
Repeat the same measurement to one side, above your thigh. This measurement will be used to ensure that the corset will not dig in to the top of your legs when you sit down.
